Counselling
A chance to be fully seen and heard.
A chance to be fully seen and heard.

Sometimes we can feel as though we are never fully seen or heard. Therapy can offer a chance to change that.
It can be very powerful to feel acceptance and empathy from someone who has no vested interest in your interpretation of your life. If you are curious about therapy , you can find out a bit more below, and some detail on how it works here

You may be exploring therapy because of a specific long-term problem, a crisis, or a sense of wanting to understand yourself and grow. Maybe you have always felt different whether through life experiences; perceived differences from others, or characteristics like neurodivergence or disability. Perhaps you are grieving, or struggling with challenging relationships or your own identity and place in the world.
I am here to see you as the individual you are, to listen to you with an open mind, and to support you as you work through challenges past and present. We are all influenced by our past - but not irreparably so. I recognise inequality and oppression make change challenging, but believe that in the right circumstances, it can be possible for everyone. We work together to help you develop deeper insights into your experiences and ultimately yourself.
I am trained in integrative counselling. This means that I use both a 'here and now' approach with my clients, listening to what brings you into therapy today, alongside considering the role of the past, the unconscious and your relationship patterns. I aim to build a collaborative therapeutic relationship with you, and be led by your needs.
I am deeply committed to offering an anti-oppressive practice, and I challenge myself to keep learning and opening my mind to different experiences and interpretations of life.
I am registered and accredited with the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), which means that my practice, qualifications and approach have been checked and approved by my professional body. It also means I adhere to a professional ethical framework.
Sessions take place in person, in my private therapy room in Borough, SE1, or online. Find out more or contact me to discuss whether we could work together on bhargreavecounselling@gmail.com
